Acquire Target Number

Call during standard business hours. When connected, state firmly:
"I would like to submit a dispute."

Identity Verification

Have the following data ready to deploy:
  • Full legal name & DOB
  • Social Security number
  • Current & past 5 years mailing addresses
  • Driver’s license/State ID number & State of issuance

Identify Disputed Data

Provide the representative with the exact parameters:
  • The specific item being disputed
  • The reporting bank/company name
  • Relevant date shown on your report
  • The nature of the discrepancy

Document Routing

If you have supporting evidence, ask the representative for the exact protocol (fax, email, or portal upload) to submit your documents after the call.

Construct Dispute Letter

Your letter must include full identity vectors (Name, SSN, DOB, ID Number, Address History) and a clear, specific explanation of the information being disputed.

Attach Evidence

Include copies of your ID, proof of address, and any supporting records.

Timeline & Results

Standard Investigation Usually completed within approximately 30 days.
State Specific (Maine) Investigations completed within 21 days for residents of Maine.
Extensions Sending additional documentation during an active investigation may extend the timeframe up to 15 additional days.
Result Delivery Delivered by mail. If registered for the portal, you will be notified when documents are ready for digital retrieval.
