This guide details the procedural steps for navigating consumer relations. Big Al's Workshop provides this intelligence for database management and educational insight.
If you’ve been denied for traditional bank accounts and keep getting pushed into fintech apps, prepaid cards, or second-chance accounts, there’s a high probability ChexSystems is involved.

ChexSystems is what banks use to evaluate your deposit account history. If there are negative entries on your report, you need to address them directly at the source. Here is the full step-by-step process.
01

Pull Your ChexSystems Report

Navigate to the official portal, click Consumer Disclosure, and request your report.
URL: https://www.chexsystems.com
If the website gives you issues:
  • Use Google Chrome or Firefox.
  • Avoid Safari or Edge because the site frequently glitches.
If the portal still doesn’t work, request your report by phone or mail:

By Phone: Call ChexSystems Consumer Relations and request your Consumer Disclosure Report.

By Mail: Send a written request including your Full legal name, DOB, Current/Past addresses, SSN, and Driver’s license.
Mail to:
Chex Systems, Inc.
Attn: Consumer Relations
PO Box 583399

02

Review Your Report

When you receive your Consumer Disclosure Report, carefully audit the personal information, reported bank accounts, and inquiries. Identify any specific items you intend to dispute.
03

Submit a Dispute

You can launch your dispute via three channels: Online, by phone, or by mail.

If executing a mail dispute, your package must include your identity data, the specific item being disputed, and the exact nature of your dispute. Include copies of any supporting documentation. Do not send originals.
Mail disputes to:
Chex Systems, Inc.
Attn: Consumer Relations
PO Box 583399
Minneapolis, MN 55458
04

Optional Strengthening Step

If the account involves identity theft, you can generate an official FTC Identity Theft Report.
URL: https://www.identitytheft.gov
Download the report and include it with your dispute package along with copies of your identification and proof of address. This significantly strengthens the dispute process.
05

Investigation Timeline

  • Standard investigation: approximately 30 days.
  • Maine residents: approximately 21 days.
  • If additional documentation is submitted during the investigation, the timeframe may extend up to 15 additional days.
Once complete, ChexSystems will notify you by mail or through your portal account.
